  1. Drag and drop your image into the upload area, or click browse files to select one from your device.
  2. Move the Border Intensity slider to set how strong the effect should be. Leave it at 100% for full border.
  3. Compare the Original and Border previews to confirm the look you want.
  4. Choose an output format — WebP for small files, PNG for lossless images, or JPEG for broad compatibility.
  5. If exporting to JPEG, pick a background fill color to replace any transparent pixels.
  6. Review the size stats and click Download Image Border Generator to save the result.

Privacy and Client-Side Security

Privacy Guarantee: All border conversion and format encoding occurs locally inside your browser. Your files and data are never transmitted, stored, or recorded on remote servers.

Many online border tools ask you to upload your photo to their servers before processing. That creates privacy risk for personal or work images. TinyToolzz takes a different approach: the conversion happens entirely on your device with the HTML5 Canvas API.

The image is drawn to a canvas with a border filter and encoded into the new file without a single network request carrying image data. When you leave the page or click Reset, the image data is released from memory. Nothing is stored, logged, or shared.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the border get added?
The tool creates a new canvas that is larger than your photo by twice the border width on each side, fills it with the chosen color, and draws your original image centered inside. The result is a clean solid-color frame with no scaling of the photo itself.
Are my photos uploaded to a server when I add a border?
No. The Image Border Generator runs entirely in your browser using the Canvas and FileReader APIs. Your image is read from your device into browser memory, framed locally, and is never transmitted, stored, or recorded on any remote server.
Can I change the border color and thickness?
Yes. Use the border width slider from 0 to 100 pixels and the color picker to choose any color. At 0 the image stays original, at 20 you get a standard frame, and at 100 you get a thick poster-style border.
What output formats can I save the bordered image as?
You can keep the original format when it is JPG, PNG, or WebP, or export as WebP, PNG, or JPEG. PNG is lossless and preserves any existing transparency under the border, JPEG is the most compatible format for sharing, and WebP offers the best compression for photos. GIF, BMP, ICO, AVIF, TIFF, and SVG inputs are converted to PNG when you keep the original format.
Does adding a border change the original photo quality?
No. The original pixels are copied without scaling or re-sampling. Only a solid frame is added around them, so sharpness and colors inside the photo stay exactly the same.
What happens if my image has transparency?
Transparent areas remain transparent inside the frame when you export to PNG or WebP, with the border color showing around the image. If you export to JPEG, which cannot store transparency, you can choose a background fill color for transparent pixels before the border is added.
